Some wedding days just feel effortless. Caitlin and Dalton’s celebration at Emerald Pines Barn in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was full of real, unfiltered emotion and so many moments that made you feel lucky just to witness them. These two were such a blast to spend the day with—down-to-earth, full of laughter, and surrounded by the kind of love and energy that makes weddings unforgettable.
Though both Caitlin and Dalton are originally from Rapid City, their paths didn’t cross until college at South Dakota State University. The first time they met? A house party—proof that sometimes the most ordinary moments can be the start of something incredible.
To help tell their story in a deeper, more personal way, we met up before the wedding in Badlands National Park to film a story session. Against the stunning backdrop of South Dakota’s iconic landscape, they opened up about their journey together—how they met, fell in love, and built a life rooted in friendship and fun. It gave their wedding film a strong emotional core and let us showcase more than just their wedding day—it captured who they are as a couple.
One of the highlights of the film is a video clip they shared of their proposal, which helped round out their story and give viewers a glimpse into another major milestone in their relationship. I love when couples are willing to bring in personal footage—it adds so much character and makes the film truly theirs.
From their heartfelt vows to the way they lit up the dance floor, Caitlin and Dalton made the most of every second. It was a day full of joy, laughter, a few happy tears, and a whole lot of fun.
If you’re planning a wedding in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, or anywhere in the Midwest and are looking for a wedding video that feels real, meaningful, and true to who you are, I’d love to help tell your story.
