An heirloom filmmaker that captures the feeling, not just the day.

The bookings kept coming. It kept getting harder to treat it like a side job. Eventually, it wasn't one.

That's still what draws me to this work. Not the gear, not the trends, not becoming "Instagram famous". The fact that what I'm filming is actually happening. Your wedding day is a real event with real stakes and real emotion, and my job is to be there for all of it — the planned parts and the unplanned ones.

I work quietly. I stay out of the way. And when something worth keeping happens, I'll be there.

I’m based in Arizona and South Dakota. I film weddings and elopements from Sedona, Phoenix, and Tucson; to Rapid City and the Black Hills, Custer State Park, and Badlands National Park, or any other destination your day takes you.

I got into wedding videography because I wanted to make things that last. Not highlight reels. Not content. Real films; the kind you press play on ten years from now and feel the whole day rush back.

I didn't plan on becoming a wedding videographer.

I was working at a local TV station when my wife suggested I pick up weddings on the side for extra income. It was practical advice, nothing more. I wasn't looking for a calling.

But something shifted once I started filming them. After years of working on productions where everything was scripted, staged, and controlled, weddings were completely different. Nobody was performing. Nobody was hitting their marks. Things went sideways in ways nobody planned for, and somehow those were the moments that mattered most. I fell in love with it — not the industry, but the work itself. The realness of it.

kind words from past couples

Kristi & Colton

“Nathaniel was so helpful in all aspects of our perfect day. He was much more than a videographer for us and went the extra mile for us on our wedding day and even before. He’s a super great dude, made us feel so comfortable and like he wasn’t even there, so he truly was able to capture such an authentic representation of our lives.”

Michelle & Dylan

“When we watched our video for the first time, we were absolutely in awe. Nathaniel’s ability to tell a story through his lens is pure artistry — every detail, every glance, every bit of emotion was perfectly woven together. It felt like reliving the most beautiful day of our lives all over again.”

Miranda & Josh

“If you're trying to decide where to spend and where to save on your wedding, let me make it easy: budget for Nathaniel Wilson Video. His work isn’t just a wedding video; it’s a beautifully curated time capsule of one of the most meaningful days of your life.”

I'm not chasing a shot for my portfolio or cutting your film to trend on social media. Every decision I make on your wedding day is in service of the story you actually lived.

This film is yours, not mine.

I'm not pulling you aside for posed reaction shots or staging moments that didn't happen. I stay out of the way and let the day be what it is. If something is worth capturing, I'll be there when it unfolds.

Document, don't direct.

Your wedding day won't go exactly as planned. The moments that catch you off guard, the ones that make you laugh or cry before you're ready — those are the ones worth keeping. That's what I'm looking for.

Real over perfect.

my philosophy

Every wedding is different.
Your film will be too.

The couples I work best with aren’t checking a box. They’re planning something that actually means something to them. They’re not worried about performing for the camera. They just want to remember how their wedding day felt.

That’s what I’m there for. I work quietly, stay out of the way, and let the day be what it is. I’m drawn to the small in-between moments, when it’s just the two of you and the whole world goes still, and nobody even knows I’m rolling. When you watch your film back, the goal is simple: for you to say, “that’s exactly how it felt.”
